Despite the weak global economy, TikTok Shop's live e-commerce business has achieved impressive results in 2024. According to the latest data released by the platform, TikTok Shop's gross merchandise volume (GMV) has increased by more than 500% in the past eight months.

To maintain this growth momentum, the platform plans to increase investment in promotional activities in the last quarter of 2024, and the investment is expected to exceed the same period last year. The goal of this strategy is to cope with fierce competition from Chinese e-commerce platforms Temu and Shopee, and encourage more local consumers to increase consumption during the year-end period.
